About Lucy ( Was Zelda)
**Zelda is not suitable to live with cats or pocket pets**
Meet Zelda, the beach loving, hose chasing, food toy master of her universe.
Zelda's ideal day involves waking you up at 6am to the soft sound of her tail thumping against your doona, followed by a breakfast of chicken from her Kong, and a trip to the beach where you play tug between walking, swimming, and greeting each and every dog-loving person in sight.
After your morning on the beach, Zelda will play in the hose to get all the salt off, then dry off in the sun while watching the world go by from her elevated Princess Bed. After dinner, you will snuggle on the couch together before heading to bed early so that you can do it all again tomorrow.
Like all true beach babes, Zelda loves people, attention, exercise, and yummy food. Zelda has made some great dog friends in foster and would love to make more, however needs a little help learning how to greet like a lady. She is super smart, willing and would do almost anything for the people she loves most (except give back the ball!).
Zelda would do best with an active family who are dedicated and have the time to spend making sure this intelligent girl continues her learning through reward based training methods.
This young girl could live with a male socialised dog is her forever home, as long as they get to meet each other first to make sure they are a good match.
Zelda's adoption fee includes a behaviour consultation with our behaviour trainer here at the shelter for once she's settled into her new home to work on learning new skills.
If Zelda sounds like your kind of dog, please tell us a bit about yourself and we'll be in touch!
**Application Process** When on the Pet Rescue profile push the "enquire about this pet" button. Follow the prompts to "send enquiry now" and in the message section please place information about the home you can provide. Include current/past pets and their breed, children including ages that live with you or visit, and any other information relevant to training/exercise/energy requirements. The information you provide helps us match the dog you've applied for to the most suitable home. We use this information in lieu of an application form. We do not take applications for dogs over the phone. We aim to reply to all applications within 5 business days. All of our dog meet and greets occur at the adoption center in Craigieburn. The majority of our dogs are in a foster home not at the shelter so you need to apply via the website to meet them. Thank you. www.secondchanceanimalrescue.com.au ...because they all deserve one!
