I would like to introduce JAFAR. He is a 6 month old gorgeous Red Heeler that has won our
hearts.

Like all his breed he is curious, energetic and boisterous and needs a calm, consistent and
firm handling as he does like to get the last word. He mostly obeys basic commands such as
Sit, Stay, Fetch, and Drop, but is still learning. He is basically house trained and we haven’t
had any ‘accidents’ lately, but we always have free access outside for him so he hasn’t had
to let us know he needs to go.

He loves to travel in the car. When the harness to the seat belt is attached, he happily just
donuts and goes to sleep with no barking or chewing on seat belts.

Jafar walks on the lead very well, not pulling or lunging at other dogs or bikes. When walking
he is wary of loud noises such as loud cars and motorbikes, it appears he has not had much
experience with coming from the outback. However we have noticed he is getting to be more accepting of cars etc. He happily socialises with other dogs but is still learning his manners and boundaries.

Jafar has had limited opportunity to play with children but he has been gentle and polite with the kiddies he has met. He has also shown to be very polite with visitors to the house.
He loves a cuddle, and loves playing fetch and tug-a-war with his toys, they are very
important to him. He gives them a really good workout but has not destroyed any of them.
He chews on them but doesn't tear them or pull them apart including his soft, cuddly
squeaky toys.

One thing though, be prepared to sing a lullaby to him when he goes down to sleep!
