About Meeko
Meet Meeko!
Meeko is just an absolute gem of a cat with the sweetest and friendliest little personality!
He is incredibly affectionate and loves attention in the form of snuggles. When he isn’t pestering his humans for cuddles or playing with his toys - Meeko loves to nap in the sun.
Meeko is very confident and curious and will be sure to entertain any visitors you have to the house with his goofy antics!
Overall, Meeko is an absolutely gorgeous boy who would make the perfect companion cat to just about anyone. He is a very special cat that we think would fit in to just about any home.
If I sound perfect for you, please complete the short adoption application form in the attached link, please note this is the only way your application will be considered: https://homelesshounds.com.au/adopt/cats
Medical notes
Meeko is desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations and parasite control.
Meeko has a heart murmur. He had an echocardiography which indicated that he has hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.
Essentially, one of the valves in Meeko’s heart has a bend in it which causes a drop in the pressure that comes out of this part of his heart and an increase in another part of the heart to make up for it.
Meeko has been given a medication called Atenolol to slow the blood pressure and help open the valve. Another echocardiography showed that this medication had improved Meeko’s condition dramatically.
He will need a further echocardiography in 12 months time to monitor changes to see if he needs this medication reviewed. For the meantime, he is happy and healthy and prognosis is optimistic. Homeless Hounds would like to work together with the adopter for the best outcomes for Meeko.
