Artemis is a very sweet natured puppy, she can be playful and puppy like, but she can also be very relaxed and chilled and often seems older than her 13 weeks (her age has been verified by a vet). She loves affection and company but will also be happy exploring the yard, especially if she has another canine companion. She loves hanging with her foster brother and will often chose to follow him rather than remain at my side. She has adored playing with any visiting dogs and loves meeting human guests as well. While she gets excited when guests first arrive, she settles quickly and has learnt good rules of play already. Artemins loves playing with sticks, toys and wrestling with her foster brother.
Artemis can already sit on command and sit and wait for her food, she is learning drop and stay. She was initially very wary of the lead, but with some practicing (and learning from her foster brothers example) she will now walk on lead (only limited practice as she is not fully vaccinated yet). She is doing really well with toilet training, rainy days and excitement are the main areas she needs to work on regarding weeing inside. She is crate trained and sleeps through the night in her crate.
Artemis isnāt tested with cats or small children, but her nature and age mean we would consider application with either of these. Due to her likely eventual size (she was 12kg at 12 weeks) she may be more suited to a family with older children (though she is doing well with learning not to jump on people).
We would prefer placing Artemis with a family that already had another playful trained dog. She definitely takes a lot of her behaviours queues from her foster brother, including being very comfortable being left home alone for short periods if he is around as well.
Artemis has had ear surgery for āaural hematoma'sā that were the consequence of an untreated ear infection. The ear infection has been successfully treated, and the surgery should be a permanent solution for the hematomaās. She is having the final stitches removed prior to adoption.
As with all puppies, Artemisās new family will need to be committed to continue his training to ensure he will grow into the best dog she can be. This gorgeous sweet girl will make a perfect companion for any person, couple or family.
