About Special Needs & Beautiful - Vuitton & Lilly <3
Lilly and Vuitton are stunning young girls who have bonded in their foster home and become wonderful supports for each other's special needs. They are the perfect pair for a working couple with no current pets, maybe in an apartment or townhouse where the girls will be kept indoors and adored for their uniqueness. They are sure to complete your home and bring much love and laughter to your evenings :D
Both girls love to run around chasing toys and climbing their cat tree. Being unable to hear where anyone is as she's deaf, Lilly gets upset if she thinks she's been left alone and will cry out. Vuitton is great to ease her stress as she keeps Lilly company, and in turn Lilly's outgoing nature helps shy Vuitton learn the confidence she needs. Please read about the girl's unique needs below and contact us if you fit the home described above, please note we won't be accepting applications from homes with other pets or young children <3
💕 Lilly
Nine month old Lilly is deaf and has a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia which is essentially the wobbles, she wobbles in everything she does :D CH is a developmental condition in which the cerebellum - the portion of the brain that controls fine motor skills, balance, and coordination - fails to develop properly and the result is a bit of a wobbly body. The condition is not painful or contagious - Lilly will live a normal cat life! She loves human company and loves to follow you around the house watching whatever you're up to.
💕 Vuitton
Six month old Vuitton is a sweet little girl who loves a cuddle and to be held firmly making her feel safe, as she was a found alone as a wild born kitten. Once she knows you she loves to sit on your lap, and adores toys and her cat tree. She is timid with new people and will need time to settle into her new home which will likely take weeks not days, so her new family will need to have patience - please don't enquire if you aren't willing to support Vuitton over a series of weeks for her to get to know you, your home and build the confidence she's shown in foster care.
If you think you have the right home and love for this beautiful pair send us an enquiry with a little about your family, lifestyle and home :D
*** PLEASE NOTE OUR INDOOR CAT POLICY
We have a strict indoor cat only policy and this is especially important for Lilly because she's deaf and would not be able to protect herself from harm, and for Vuitton as being timid she would be terrified if let outside and would be impossible to find again. Please consider this before making an enquiry.

Medical notes
Cerebellar hypoplasia is a developmental condition in which the cerebellum of the brain fails to develop properly. The cerebellum is the portion of the brain that controls fine motor skills, balance, and coordination. The condition is not painful or contagious.
What causes it?
Cerebellar hypoplasia most commonly occurs when a pregnant cat becomes infected with feline panleukopenia virus and passes the infection to her unborn kittens. The panleukopenia virus preferentially attacks rapidly dividing cells. During the perinatal period (i.e., in the last weeks of pregnancy and the first weeks after birth) the cerebellum is undergoing rapid growth and development, making it vulnerable to attack by the virus. The condition may only affect one kitten in a litter or may involve all littermates.
What are the symptoms?
Since the cerebellum is responsible for purposeful movement and coordination, the symptoms of this condition may not become apparent until the kitten starts to try and stand or walk on its own. The severity of the symptoms depends on how much of the cerebellum was affected and at what stage in its development the infection occurred.
The most typical symptoms are jerky or uncoordinated walking, swaying from side to side when trying to walk, a goose-stepping gait called hypermetria, mild head tremors, and/or intention tremors. Intention tremors are tremors that occur when the kitten intends to make some sort of movement. Intention tremors may be present to a minor degree when the kitten walks, but will usually become more pronounced when the kitten tries to do something more involved such as playing with a toy or bending over to drink or eat out of a bowl.
What is the prognosis?
Kittens with cerebellar hypoplasia are not infectious to other kittens or cats, are not in any pain, and will learn to adapt to their disability over time. They can safely be spayed or neutered, but must be kept indoors as they are prone to losing their balance and could easily be injured or attacked if they go outdoors. If their symptoms are pronounced, they may require special modifications in their home environment, including dishes that are raised off the floor for easier access. Although some kittens may be more prone to minor injuries associated with falls, all of them are able to have a normal life expectancy provided they are given some extra tender loving care.

About Sunny Days:
Sunny Days Rescue & Rehab is a registered charity, foster care network and private shelter, focusing on the rescue, rehab and rehoming of ‘true stray’ cats - cats who've never had experience with humans or a human home.
The overall objective of our organisation is to:
💕 successfully physically and psychologically rehabilitate terrified cats and find them homes which understand their needs and are compassionate to their history,
💕 remove complete stray cat colonies from the community and ensure they will never breed again or be back on the street again,
💕 provide an example of the potential to rehab unsocialised cats to other organisations who may not have understood or attempted to achieve that potential before,
💕 educate the community on how many stray cats are hiding in the dark corners of community trying to survive and that desexing is the only way to begin to lessen these numbers and the resulting suffering,
💕 provide an opportunity for volunteers to learn animal husbandry and handling skills to a high level which may help them in their future work in animal welfare and as pet owners,
💕 and provide an opportunity for compassionate people to come together and pool their skills for the betterment of a demographic of animal that is mostly ignored and misunderstood despite us humans being their source and the reason they even exist.
Please support us in our important work by clicking the pink DONATE button on this page. Thankyou! 💕
