About Boof
Let me introduce myself, my name is Boof. You guessed it correctly, I live up to my name. I love to please people, if I think you are not paying enough attention to me that I think I should be receiving. I will put my front paw up to you, just to remind you that I am still here.
I do know basic commands like sit, drop and stay. But it is still recommended that I keep up obedience training as it will help both myself and my new owner to form a bond, as well as keep my doggie manners up to date.
Like many working dogs I have high energy levels, a very active mind and a strong level of independence which is not uncommon in my breed.
As with all the dogs I will need a roomy yard with high secure fencing to help keep me safe. As well as I will need plenty of toys and enrichment, as well as twice daily walks/runs.
Heeler's are a herd guard breed who are known to be playful with familiar people, but suspicious of those they do not know.
With my loving and affectionate disposition I am sure to become a very loyal family member.
Although I have a clean bill of health, I am a little older and may soon require veterinary treatment for diseases of old age such as arthritis and heart disease. Please don't be put off by my age because, with the right care, I have many more years ahead of me.
