About Fudge
Hi humans.
Iâm Fudge, a 6 month old Staffy x . Ill probably grow to large med size boy
Well our sweet dear Fudgy boy is finally ready for adoption Fudge didnât have the best start to life and has had some anxiety issues which have set him back but he has endeavoured to overcome them. Once Fudge gets to know you and your family he is a happy confident tail wagging boy. He is super sweet with a gentle loving nature.
Fudgy can be an anxious boy in new situations but we have applied continuous effort in exposing him to many different environments, cars, trains, trucks, bikes, streams, water, people and other dogs. He is coming along in leaps and bounds so we seek a committed family to continue this so he doesnât regress.
Fudge does have some quirky traits! lol. He is definitely one of a kind. He is a snugglepot so we are definitely seeking a family that will allow him inside to shower him with lots of love and cuddles. He is always happy to reciprocate. His favourite thing is sleeping under the doona with you all night.
His cheeky puppy side does come out now and again where he will steal one of your shoes and have a chew but generally he is a dream boy around the home
Fudge, still being a young pup, is still learning his manners. He can be a bit jumpy and excited when you get home but he is learning to calm down and sit for pats. He sits beautifully for treats and his food. Excellent off lead with great recall and would make a great little running partner when he matures (at 1year). Fudgy wonât go to far from you and likes to keep you in his sight especially in new situations. He does not like being left outside for too long but is improving as time goes by. Fudge-mister now loves other dogs too. . That is all in the past as he now bounds over to other dogs wanting to play. He loves a good chase and wrestle especially with dogs similar age and size to him. He will initiate play quite easily. Itâs super important he continues on this path so daily socialisation is a must for his new home. He has been living with two other dogs whom he enjoys hanging out with all day long so definitely blossoms when he has a doggy playmate. We are looking for a female dog friend to be his constant companion.
Fudge was extremely scared of anyone he didnât know and would squeal and nip out of utter fear. He now is happy to go up to people for a quick pat to say hi. If a visitor comes to the house now he now tends to bark instead and back away so slow introductions are important so he continues to grow in confidence. After a few minutes he will come up with a waggy tail for a sniff and pat. When he is anxious he will sometimes grab your hand with his mouth, a bit like a security blanket, I told you heâs quirky! lol, so he needs a gentle reminder not to do this behaviour. He is a boy who thrives on positive reinforcement only. . His squeaky ball is definitely a favourite.
Sleeping
Fudge will head to bed when you do. He does not like to sleep alone and will cry if left to do so. He will seek out human company so would be great for a teen who wants to share their bed . He uses his pokey nose to get under the covers and will sleep with you all night. Very rarely will he wake to go out to the toilet. You may need earplugs though as he
can be a bit of a snorer
We are looking to place Fudge in a home with a female dog that can teach him the ropes
A home that is kind and patient
No children under 12 as a to noisy environment is not good for this anxious boy still finding his feet in life
An active family who will socialise this boy at least daily
Someone home most of the day as he can get a bit anxious being left to long
A home that will take Fudge on daily walks and continue to develop his confidence skills with strangers
A home with a female playful but loving girl
A med to larger size yard for playing
Fudge comes with one of our great adoption packs
