Fitz

Say hello to Fitz!

Fitz as a unique little dog. He is part Shar Pie but the other part is in question - we think possibly some derivative of the Spitz family - and it FITZ. Fitz is much better looking than his photos - his inky blackness makes it difficult to bring out his best features.

This strange mix of breed make Fitz a quirky little fellow. He responds well to leadership so we are looking for that home that understands what this means.

Fitz can be a little aloof when he meets new people - but that changes quickly as he gets to know you. He used to be reactive to other dogs - but that was from total lack of exposure and constant bickering with the other dog in the home where he grew up.

Fortunately for Fitz he was surrendered very early in his development. Since he has been in care - has received outstanding progress reports from our behaviourist.

It will be important for Fitz to continue in his new home where hierarchy is understood. This little guy needs to be lead first and loved second.

Fitz is sharp and responsive. He WILL take a short time to warmup to strangers so if you would like to meet Fitz be prepared to give him some time. He is still learning that HIS world does not need to be "dog eat dog" place.

Fitz was living in a home with a bunch of unruly children and another of our rescues (Did you see 2pack? - already adopted and doing FABULOUSLY). There was no issues reported when it came to the children but for consistency we are looking for a home with out the distraction of young kiddies or other pets.
