About Meeky
Hi I'm Meeky! I arrived into care after I was surrendered due to my owner no longer being able to look after me. I have spent several months in care, as I arrived with a very bad attitude. I have received professional training & further training in my foster home, and now I am ready to find a very specific forever home.
I know a lot of people will see a cute, small fluffy dog, but let me tell you, I am not the dog for everyone. I am an old grumpy man, with a sassy, stubborn little personality and I am looking for a very specific home with strict requirements.
I am not suitable to a home with elderly or children - that includes children within the home or that would visit often. I love all people, don't get me wrong, but I have proven in the past to have a very short temper. I would be perfect for a single person or couple in an adult only home, with no children that just want a little buddy.
Before I arrived in care I was used to getting my own way, and would have a tantrum if I didn't get what I want. This has lead to some terrible little behaviours, that are slowly being corrected over time. My new owners MUST be capable of continuing to provide consistent structure, boundaries and leadership.
I would be best suited as an only pet household. I have lived with other dogs, but again, I am a grumpy old man that prefers my own space and my own humans. I am excellent inside and have impeccable manners and my toilet training is on point. It is recommended that I have my own bed and couch, and not encouraged on the human furniture, to continue on with my training of not always ruling the house. I love being inside though, so must be included in the family.
I enjoy my walks and know lots of tricks - I can sit, stay, shake and spin left and right!,
I am a loving little lad, that just has a typical case of 'small dog being treated like a baby' syndrome. Dogs should be spoiled, absolutely, but boundaries must be set and leadership must be established otherwise you have a problem!
I know there is a perfect home out there for me and I can't wait to find it!
