About Tom - Located in Lower Templestowe
Hey there, I'm Tom, and I'm on the lookout for my forever home – a place filled with warmth, love, and lots of affection. Let me tell you a bit about myself.
First off, I'm a big boy with an even bigger heart. I love stretching my legs and exploring, so a spacious environment would be a dream come true for me. I do enjoy my independence and having my own cozy spot to nap and unwind, but I'm never too shy to show when I'm hungry or in need of some love and attention. A gentle nudge for pats is always appreciated, and I'm all in for playtime when the mood strikes.
I'm quite an inquisitive fellow, you see. I love following people around, watching the world go by from a window, or even peering out from a fly screen door. At first, I might seem a tad shy, but once I settle into a space, I'm more than happy to cuddle up with anyone who's willing to share their love.
Sometimes, I might playfully nip and swipe when I'm in the mood for a game, but rest assured, I've never displayed any aggression during my recent foster care. I'm just a fun-loving guy looking for some playtime!
You might be wondering why you should consider adopting a senior cat like me. Well, here are a few reasons:
Life-Saving Act: By adopting a senior cat, you're giving them a chance at a loving home and a comfortable place to enjoy their golden years. It's a life-saving act that's truly heartwarming.
Chilled Vibes: Unlike the rambunctious antics of younger cats, I've outgrown my kitten phase, which means I'm generally calmer and more relaxed. I'm perfectly content to spend quality time cuddling and lounging with my new family.
Ready to Roll: I'm already litter-box trained and well-socialized with people and other animals. Transitioning to a new home should be a breeze.
Fewer Hassles: You'll find that senior cats like me typically have fewer behavioral or training issues compared to younger ones. I'm less likely to scratch furniture, jump on counters, or engage in other destructive behaviors.
So, if you're looking for a companion who's both loving and low-maintenance, I might just be the perfect match for you. Adopting a senior cat like me can be a deeply rewarding experience, providing a loving home for a cat that deserves all the love and care in the world. Let's make each other's lives brighter – swipe right on Tom! 🐾❤️

WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
