About Barney ~ 1yr Old Staffy X Mastiff(On Trial 3/11/21
This is Barney – a boy’s boy, a tradie’s assistant, a young man’s running mate, or a future best friend.
Barney is a 1yr old Staffy X Mastiff Mix. He is smart and loyal and a joy to be around. This boy knows how to behave despite his tender age. Once he bonds with his human, he is happy just to hang around, keeping you company. He doesn’t wander off, run away, or get into mischief. He just wants to be your best buddy. He is not needy.
Barney has plenty of energy for walks or play time. He can pull a bit on the lead initially, but quickly settles into a good strong walking pace. He plays rough if that’s how you like it, but is generally a gentle soul. Barney plays nicely with other dogs once polite introductions are made. We can’t be sure about cats or pocket pets, so perhaps best without them for now. He may be a bit big and bouncy for young children, but with training, he would learn the rules quickly. Barney loves a chew toy and belly rubs. Give him those and he will be your loyal companion and best friend forever. He is never cheeky. If you tell him to do something (that he understands), he does it straight away.
This boy is toilet trained and currently sleeps inside. He goes to bed when his people go, or when he is told to go, without argument or complaint.
He is currently an only dog, which he loves, but we expect he would enjoy a doggy sibling too. He is an ideal dog for any single person or a family with bigger kids. He would love a reasonable sized, well fenced yard to play in. He doesn’t dig, climb or escape, and he is not much of a barker either.
