About Callie
This gorgeous girl is Callie and we are looking for a very special owner for her. Callie came into SAFE Bunbury's care a shy and nervous young girl and has gradually been improving over her weeks in foster care with her carer, her doggy big sister, and carer's cats. Callie is still quite wary of new experiences, people and places, so will need a patient owner who can give her gentle encouragement, however she is gaining confidence daily. She relies on her big sis a lot so we are really hoping for a home that already has a patient and confident dog to give her that ongoing security and confidence.
Callie has learned to trust her carer and now enjoy cuddles, and she especially likes giving her carer rather sloppy kisses. She gets very excited when her carer comes home from work. She is also gaining confidence on her walks but will sometimes growl at things she is scared of. Toilet training is still ongoing.
Callie will do best in a quietish home without too much coming and going. She has not lived with kids since being in care, however as she gets scared of raised voices, it's possible that she's not suited to a home with children. She shares her foster home with 2 cats.
Callie does sometimes chew and eat things she shouldn't, particularly bits of dog beds, doona covers, sheets, T towels, rope toys. This could be related to separation anxiety so a home where someone is home most of the time would be great; she doesn't do this when her human is around. Limiting access to things she could chew/eat would also help.
If you think you have a home to suit Callie, please send us your application and provide as much information as possible so we can see if you are a good match.
