About Jade
Queen of the couch, Jade loves her humans. She loves to cuddle but more importantly she knows when you need one. She is your nurse, knowing when you need some intensive care. Jade has the most gorgeous eyes that look deep into your soul and she has the softest ears. Jade craves an ear massage and neck rub. Jade will want to be as close to her human as possible. If you work from home she would love a bed under your desk. Jade is also understanding that when it is overnight sleepy times she has her own bed apart from her humans and will sleep well thoughout the night.
Jade loves her outdoor adventures. She will be very excited setting out for works. Jade loves to say hello to as many humans on her walks as possible, she will even give a toothy grin and tail wag to someone across the street hoping they might wave back. Jade is happy to meet most dogs on her walks and is delighted to meet other greys or calmer large dogs but hasn’t had the opportunity to meet many challenging jumpy small dogs yet.
At home, Jade likes her zoomies but will nap beside you for much of the day. She loves her toys and will play to entertain you. Jade would be fine as an only dog if her humans are not gone for more than a few hours at a time. She would also happily live with another medium to large dog. Make sure she has her comforts, Jade is a lover of blankets and pillows. She is also is a hoarder, brining slippers to her bed a favourite.
Jade is a precious gem, ready to bring love and affection into your home.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
