About Harley Quinn
The absolutely stunning Harley Quinn is now seeking her forever home. She is a sweet 2 year old Bulldog x.weighing 26 kilos She is a medium sized dog - around knee height. Harley is a sweet, active, and affectionate young girl. She is extremely happy to see you and appreciates all the time you offer her. It’s an absolute pleasure to spend time with her and makes you smile when you see her cute scrunched up face when she looks at you. SHarney Quinn is an absolute people person but it might take her just a little time to trust new hoomans.
. Harley started her foster care with us on her own. She was quite scared upon arriving, but has now grown into a confident girl. Having a dog companion join her in her last few days of stay have really enriched her and made her a beautiful, confident and happy dog! She still is a little jumpy around loud noises and things like brooms and sticks. She came from a domestic violence home so this would account for these fears. Her new home would need to keep this in mind that Harley Quinn has probably seen some terrible things in her young life so although she is very comfortable with her foster carers in their home now she might need some time to feel comfortable in her new one. We are definitely seeking a home with another dog as we have found that since we put another dog in the home she has just flourished and her confidence has steamed along. We are seeking a gentle but playful male of similar size that she can lean of and give her the both companionship and confidence leads she is thriving on.
OBEDIENCE She does not really know many obedient words or tips so some training might be needed in this regard. Apart from that, she does go to the toilet outside if it is made clear from the beginning. She sits down nicely when waiting for her food. If she sees food in your hand, she will automatically sit down waiting! Harley can be a bit bitey at times when she is excited. She loves playing in the backyard, she is full of energy (especially with her dog companion). She likes to play outside, especially when she has another dog with her.
ENRICHMENT: She loves her frequent belly rubs and human attention. Harley will need stimulation when alone for long periods, such as chewing on bones or toys. Ideally, a family with a dog and regular human interaction is ideal. We have been walking her in the early morning. We have found one walk a day is enough for Harley.
SLEEPING Harley has been primarily an inside dog. She sleeps in the bed with us as she tends to get lonely at night usually from 10:00pm until 6:30am. Through the day she spends the majority of her time inside with foster mum or dad.
SOCIALISATION Harley has made a new canine friend while staying with her foster family. She is very playful. Harley’s foster family consists of four adults. She has shown playful cheeky affection to all of us equally and is happy to follow us around curiously. She has met several strangers and tends to be very shy for an extended period of time until she gets over her nervousness, which can be for a while.
TRAVEL/CAR She may feel quite scared to go into the car at first. However, when she does get in it’s best to keep her belted up as she can be quite nervous.
IDEAL HOME: We feel Harley would thrive in a home with a family that is very inclusive, ideally with a friendly dog. Harley would probably prefer to be an inside dog with easy outside access, giving her the freedom to go about her day Adoption CriteriaA nice size yard for running and playing with her friend that consists of grass as wellA gentle sweet but playful male of similar size who will be her companion and BFFA daily walk is a must in non crazy traffic areasDefinitely allowed to be inside and outside If children in residence they must be of older teenage years and be calm and gentle with dog experience She comes with one of our amazing adoption packs including
