About Luna
Luna is a three-year-old giant ball of fluff (also known as a Maremma Sheepdog!).
She is fully house trained and knows you only pee outside. She is super polite and will never whinge, whimper or chew things that don't belong to her.
When she wants some food, she will come and sit at your feet to show you she is a good girl. She loves BBQ chicken, peanut butter straight from the jar (who doesn't?) and big bones from the butcher.
At night, Luna sleeps so peacefully you won't even know she's there.
If you live in a quiet area and are looking for a low-energy dog who can laze about in your house with you, watch Netflix in the evening and needs minimal walks, Luna is your girl. When she does go walking, she wears her muzzle, which she believes makes her look real tough. It's there in case other doggos are off-lead and run up to her, which can be frightening for her.
Once Luna trusts you, she is affectionate and loves scratches (especially on the bum!). She has bursts of energy and loves to play with toys and do zoomies in the backyard.
While Maremmas are bred to protect properties, Luna prefers being indoors. Noises outside can be scary for her so she likes having a quiet place where she can be alone.
Although she looks like a giant puffy marshmallow, Luna is a great guard dog and will bark at strangers to protect your home. Because of this, she needs to have tall, secure fencing all around the house and backyard. Luna has a bit of anxiety so she needs a mature home with people who will be patient with her and happy to continue her training.
Currently, Luna is in a foster home in Baulkham Hills and will require a few visits to ensure compatibility.
If Luna looks like the perfect fit for you and your home, please contact our shelter team on (02) 8777 4445 or at kempscreek@awlnsw.com.au to meet this sweet girl.
