About Chooky
Chooky is a 2 year old female American Bulldog ready to be adopted who ....
- loves walks - she wears a head halti and this works well since she's a big girl
- loves food - and will sit and patiently wait until told it's ok to eat, and take treats gently - but she will eat any food you leave unattended on the bench so be careful
- enjoys carrying a soft toy around in her mouth (and doesn't destroy it)
- has fun playing with toys, balls, rubber bones etc.
- likes to talk (playful growling) when she wants attention or playing with her toys
- is a fan of cuddles, tummy rubs and pats
- is a very good sleeper, has no trouble sleeping all night and won't be waking you up for playtime at 2am
- is very good at using a doggy door to go out to toilet and is house-trained
- likes children, but sometimes forgets her size
Chooks takes a bit to warm up to new people and can be startled by loud or unexpected noises. Chooky will be scared of people she doesn't who know approach her, it's best she is given a very slow introduction.
Chooky will be best as the only pet at her new home. She is generally good with other dogs outside of the home (does get a bit excited when she sees another dog out on a walk).
If you've had experience with American Bulldogs or large breeds this would be ideal for Chooky. Please get in contact to learn more about Chooky https://www.minisbulldogrescue.com/apply

Applicants will be assessed in terms of best suitability for the dog. A meet & greet and yard inspection are essential parts of the screening process.
The first 2 weeks for every adoption is a trial period to ensure that both the dog and family are a good match. And once everyone is happy the dog's microchip will be changed across to the new family.
