About Theo
*In foster care in Marrickville, Sydney*
Beautiful big boy Theo is a lovable goofball! He adores cuddles and attention - belly rubs are his favourite! - and will follow you around like a shadow, often snoozing at your feet as you work on the computer or watch TV.
Theo is very well behaved and mild-natured while at home. He doesn't pester for food while you're eating, doesn't chew things, is toilet trained and is completely fine to be left alone (although he'll bump off the walls in his eagerness to reach you and then lick you to death when you return!).
He definitely needs a physically strong, understanding owner who will be patient with him on walks. Theo is easily overstimulated when he gets out into the world (by anything from other dogs to people to birds), and can at times be difficult to walk as he'll bark and charge at things that excite him. Although he has good walking days where he's easy, there are other days when a firm hand is absolutely required! Regular calm exposure to the outdoors is helping him to improve, but this will be a work in progress.
Like all Maggie's pets, Theo is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... is a property with a decent-sized yard as I'm a big boy who likes to romp around! I can't wait to be treated as a real member of the family, with access to the house when you're home so I can stay as close to you as possible :)
I'm quite happy to sleep either inside or outside, but be warned - I demand LOTS of pats and snuggles first thing in the morning!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Although I'm still practically a puppy I'm pretty placid, really! During the day I sleep a lot and am perfectly content to just hang out near my special person. I'm well behaved at night and sleep easily without disturbance.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Hard to say, as I haven't met any children since coming into foster care.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I do tend to bark and sometimes lunge at other dogs I encounter on walks - especially if they're off lead and running around! However, I have improved significantly in the last few weeks and sometimes I'm very well behaved when we pass another dog. I'm learning all the time, but what I really need is a patient owner to help me socialise with other dogs and work on my manners.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
