Womble

Womble is an adorable, loveable, cheeky, happy and funny little character!

Womble is a people dog - we swear he is part human sometimes! He’s happiest when he’s eating food or being held and cuddled in your arms or on your lap.

Speaking of food, Womble has a particular way of finding all the treats! Be sure to leave those delicious treats out of reach - Womble doesn’t understand portion control and will eat the entire bag if left to his own devices!

He loves going for walks and has learnt to wait before crossing the road. He has no issues on lead and is perfect with other friendly, polite dogs. He gets anxious when other dogs bark (he often starts to join in). Womble just needs a lot of reassurance that it’s okay and that he is okay.

Womble is fine in the car, as long as he has his comfy bed with him.

Womble is currently working on crate training in hopes of settling his anxiety. He suffers from separation anxiety and will need a home where a beloved family member is home a majority of the time. He will start to bark and whine when left alone, and begins to get very stressed. Ongoing work is needed to carry on the crate training and other techniques to help him feel safe and let him know that the humans will come back to him. Support will be available to Womble’s forever humans from Homeless Hounds Animal Rescue.

He is not phased by cats and enjoys playing with other dogs. We are unsure how he is with small children. He will become your shadow and is a dog that simply wants love.
He has a downfall that he does scent mark (pee) inside. This is being worked on and may improve once his attachment is built in his forever home, but it is something to be aware of and will need work.

He will sit if you have a treat or a ball in your hand, and he’s just perfected sitting and waiting before he can eat his food. He is an absolute joy and is loved by everybody who meets him - in a calm and stable home, where his owners are around for him most of the time, Womble will thrive.
