About Bucket
Bucket is one very chill dude. This guy would happily sit by your side the majority of the day so long as he was given some cuddles and had his daily rumble at the park or walk.
He loves his humans, and wants to meet as many people as he can, using his puppy dog eyes to win over most and ending up with his beloved head scratches.
Bucket is very happy to be introduced to new dogs, but does lack confidence in larger groups of dogs. He is very soft in his play and when he is pushed too far in rumbles with other dogs you will hear about it, he has a great little bark on him. He has displayed some bossy tendencies when other dogs are around his humans, and therefore would be more appropriate for a single-dog home. His owner will need to feel confident in slowly socialising Bucket to dog parks and busier environments like the local cafe.
He's is a quick learner, but very cheeky. He loves to jump (usually in search for food), and even though he understands and knows the command 'NO' he will push it see how naughty he can get. Recall is coming along well, and has been successful in parks off leash as well as at home. In his current foster home he has worked hard to reduce his resource guarding around food, and is understanding he will be regularly fed so he doesn't need to gobble his food so quickly. Bucket is great in a car and sleeps once he has settled and is crate trained.
Currently living in an adult only home, he has been tested around 2-10 year old kids and is very happy to play with kids, however we are NOT looking to home him with kids under 12 due to his resource guarding around food.
Bucket has displayed typical signs of cattle dog behaviour, 'rounding up' people and other dogs, very vocal in play and when scared. A confident owner/someone who has experience with cattle dogs should have no problem controlling these traits.
He'd do better as a single dog due to his concern around sharing human attention and or food. You will need to be home most days and will have experience with working breeds, preferably Cattle dogs and rounding behaviour. You must be committed to his ongoing training, socialisation and development.
He should be an inside / outside dog with access to inside and outside all day and be able to sleep inside. Bucket currently gets at least one walk (morning) for 40 mins or more and includes off leash play/exploring and like most working breeds, will require good physical and mental stimulation.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
