About Daisy
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
NAME: Daisy
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to SAFE Esperance from the pound.
BREED: Cattle Dog X Terrier
Breed traits: Australian Cattle Dog - Affectionate, devoted and protective of family but can be wary of strangers. Usually attaches to one person and loves to be close. Very, high energy and highly intelligent - they love to have a job and if not mentally and physically worked enough they can be destructive. Bred to herd by nipping so is mouthy and will nip cattle, children, pets, cars, anything that moves. They have a strong prey drive with other small animals unless reared with them. Not for novice owners.
Terriers - they come in all shapes and sizes and were bred for different reasons but many were for farm work or ratting. Today they are mainly companions. Terriers are generally high energy, very bright and quick to learn but can be stubborn. They have strong personalities and a sense of fun and want to be included in everything you do. Don't take on a terrier unless you really do want a companion.
ASSETS: Easygoing, affectionate, devoted, eager to please, friendly, outgoing, obedient, confident, active, sweet and playful. She’s settled into foster care really well and is a total sweetheart.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Daisy is fostered with other dogs at present and loves their company. She enjoys play-wrestling and playing chasey with them and will happily play for ages then settle down for a snooze. She really enjoys her walks, especially when she gets to meet new friends while she’s out and about. She also loves cuddle time and would cuddle all day if she was able to!
ENDEARING FEATURES: She’s very well behaved and has a very sweet nature.
OTHER ANIMALS: She gets on well with other friendly dogs and could live with one after gentle introduction. She is untested with cats at present.
GENERAL INFO: Daisy walks nicely on her lead and is housetrained. She rarely barks and she knows a few commands.
ESSENTIALS for Daisy
:: a loving home where someone is there for most of the day on a permanent basis or can take her with them when they go out.
:: to be allowed to adjust to her new surroundings in her own time and without pressure
:: an owner who will continue to train her and take her for classes where she can gain the foundation she lacks.
:: a playful doggy friend to share her new home with or the opportunity to have regular play dates.
:: Daisy is high energy and needs a good walk/run every day with plenty of play time.
:: a well fenced, secure yard with some grass and interesting things for her to sniff and explore..
:: to be allowed to be inside or out as she chooses, to sleep inside at night and be included as part of the family.
Daisy could live with dog-savvy, respectful and gentle children over 7 years of age. Daisy can jump up but is slowly learning not to, so very small children would not be ideal.
If Daisy sounds like the perfect girl for you, please send an enquiry and we’ll be in touch soon.
