About Holly
Holly is a cracker. Her foster carers describe her as very sweet and loving and very much a puppy still. Holly needs a home where her owners are able to give her the exercise and stimulation she needs. She will reward you with constant love and adoration.
Holly loves her walks but needs some continued training to walk with a loose lead so she can walk like a lady. She is fascinated and delighted by the world so can be distracted and dart about a bit. Holly will need a home with a sizeable yard she can do her zoomies. With two good walks and a zoom or two each day she should be able to settle for naps in between. Holly loves to play with toys. She loves to play fetch with you in the yard and will bring back the ball for more…mostly.
Holly gets very enthusiastic meeting all the humans and other doggos on her walks. She is a social butterfly and thinks everyone she meets is her best friend.
Holly has settled into her home well. She has learnt to do stairs and getting there with slippery floorboards. She loves to follow you around the home as a constant companion making sure you don’t need any extra help in the kitchen or company while you pop into to the bathroom. She is always available for a cuddle or neck scratch and loves nose kisses.
One of Holly’s favourite hobbies is collecting, nothing is safe from her hoarding. Mostly shoes, toys and clothes that she will take to her bed.
Holly loves her foster brother, another greyhound. She loves to snuggle up, he is less keen. He likes his space. Holly is very happy hanging out with other dogs and it helps her expend some of that extra energy.
We are looking for a home with another suitable medium or large dog that may enjoy playing with Holly or at least not be annoyed by her energy. She will also need humans home a lot and prepared to put in the work to train her to be home alone.
Holly is too boisterous for smaller children but would be fine with teenagers.
We only consider applications who compete our Gumtree Greys online application.
When this is done we can make contact to discuss adopting a greyhound and potential suitable greys currently in foster care.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
