About Perry
Are you looking for a quirky and fun furriend? That’s me, Perry!
I’m your guy. I’ll tell you why.
I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT LIFE! I am a go getter and a 100% adventure dog.
I absolutely LOVE visitors and want to meet ALL the dogs on ALL the walks!!
I do other fun things too. Like making leaves rustle with my poop. That one was surprising – even to me! Not sure I’ll do that again. I’ll go for another walk, though. I like walking. I like cars too. If you open a car door – or if that person over there opens their car door – that’s my invitation to get in! You can come too! I’d like that.
I enjoy company. I’d much prefer that to being alone – it’s a little scary. I’m happiest when you’re home or I’d be happy to spend my time with your resident doggo. I like bigger dogs – if you have one. Small dogs and cats are too much for me.
I know that all sounds a bit silly, so let me tell you something that’s clever. I can sit! I know that doesn’t SOUND like a big deal, but I’m a greyhound. Trust me – IT’S A BIG DEAL! Have you seen how high our butts are from the ground?
One last thing. I wouldn’t mind if you had kids, especially if they are older. I like routine and kids seem to do well with it too.
I truly look forward to meeting you. Then we can trade stories and games and skills! I’d like that.

Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
https://greytgreys.org/adoption-form/
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $350.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
