Denton is a smart and loveable boy who is seeking a human who wants a four pawed shadow.

Denton is super attached to his foster Mum and follows his humans around the house. He whimpers and sometimes barks when left alone but he can be distracted for 15 minutes with a frozen lick mat or kong. He will settle down eventually but always with a whimper so separation anxiety is something that will have to be worked on.

When he’s unsure or in unfamiliar situations he will air lick but you will quickly learn what is bothering him and be able to reassure him. This is happening less frequently the more time he spends with us.

Having said all that, Denton is a gorgeous, gentle loving boy. Always ready for a belly rub or a chin tickle he will roll on his back and thump his tail for attention and will happily accept it for hours on end if you are wiling. We suspect he was a Roman Emperor in a previous life!

He will jump around and thump his tail when he sees you getting ready for a walk and trots along nicely on a loose lead for 45 mins (approx 2-3km) in the morning and afternoon. Occasionally he will growl at a dog for no apparent reason but there’s no aggression and he will happily meet and greet other dogs.

He has been off lead in a garden with four other dogs including a 6 month old puppy and he had a ball.

He is a professional sniffer of plants, lamp posts and bottoms!

He’s great in a car, house trained and talks to himself which is hilarious and he loves a back wriggle in his bed.

Denton could possibly benefit from an older female dog for companionship, otherwise a quieter home where he is the centre of attention and not left alone often would be perfect.

Denton weighs approx 15kg so he’s not a lap dog but would love to sit next to you on the sofa. He needs to sleep in your bedroom and ideally have access to a dog door.
