About Xena Warrior Doggo
Xena the Warrior Doggo was a much loved pet, but sadly her owner was incarcerated for reasons unknown. Xena went to family members who did not look after her with the same care and love, and she was surrendered after being abused on a number of occasions and the RSPCA Inspectorate kept handing her back. She was rescued by concerned neighbours and came to us with a swollen bloodshot eye and swollen ribs, very sore and very cautious of interacting, especially with men.
Xena has blossomed with safety, security, love and food. She is a sweet, submissive and far too clever for her paws girl. She adores the company of her human pack, and just wants to be with you all the time... watch out for the sneaky crawl onto the bed for morning cuddles from her pillow bed. Xena was gifted a big fluffy cuddle pillow from our fabulous pet shop partners Pet Barn (thank you!), and this big cushion will come with her to her forever home.
Xena is a stunning looking dog, tricolour and long coated, we think she's border collie/sheltie cross. Whatever she is, it's furry pantaloons, floofy tail and lots and lots of grooming needed. And a good vacuum cleaner. Speaking of which, she thinks the vacuum cleaner is an evil monster that needs to be herded but has proven she can control her impulses. Lawn mowers on the other hand, they need to be herded no matter what. Xena is also obsessed with hoses and sprinklers and will chase and catch water every which way, getting herself gloriously soggy in the process. Hours of entertainment.
One of our long term cat carers announced that Xena was the ""least offensive foster dog to date"", high praise indeed from a confirmed crazy cat lady. Xena got along with her, but sadly does not get along with cats (she pesters them by muzzle punching them and riling them up), other dogs (tries to dominate them and starts fights) and can't be trusted around chickens (will chase and chomp given the opportunity). So that's the bad news.
The good news is Xena would be a superb canine companion for a single, couple or family who were into walking, hiking or other robust exhausting activities with lots of cuddles afterwards. She responds extremely well to positive reinforcement training and we'd like her forever home to invest in that with her. Experience with working breeds looked upon favourably, along with the ability to groom that gorgeous coat (wether you do it yourself or outsource, we don't mind... but be warned it's a lot of hair).
If you're looking for a gorgeous doggo to share your life and bed/couch/food with, look no further. Xena is here. She will love you, love your partner/s, love your kids and bring so much joy to your life. Submit an enquiry now and have an online meet & greet with Xena and her carer!
