About Fletch
Hi! I'm Fletch and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR FLETCH
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/WxpMFPcsuvERNbPg7
What I need in my new home:
• LARGE BREED EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• NO CATS - I'm very scared of them
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• No young children as I'm very nervous in new situations as they may accidently scare me. Teenagers who understand I may need time to gain my confidence should be ok.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Small children due to being mouthy & bouncy
• NO CATS, NO POCKET PETS AND NO POULTRY - I find them way too scary
My best features:
• Very playful once I get to know you
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans once I get to know you
• Happy to hang out with other dogs
• Love to snooze on the couch
• Exuberant & full of beans
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I'm learning to walk properly on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice I should soon look forward to a daily stroll around the neighbourhood
• I may have a thunder & fireworks and may bark & whine. I may require a safe space to retreat to during these events as well as comfort and reassurance from my family.
AN ADOPTION CAN'T BE APPROVED IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET FLETCH IN PERSON.
