About Narla
Narla was the kitten of a friends cat and came to live with her family five years ago. Unfortunately the family now has to move and Narla needs to find another furrever home.
Narla has grown up with kids, and co-exists quite well with them, but she will warn them when she's had enough. If the kids don't pick up on the signs, they may get a swipe. Kids be warned, Narla is not to be messed with.
Narla is an inside only cat, she loves to climb to get the best view out of the window and will sun herself in windows for hours. Will also seek out other warm spots in the house, like heater vents, your bed, your lap... especially in winter.
Narla's favourite toys are boxes and cat trees, anything she can sit in or get on and climb up is simply the best for her. She doesn't get up on the kitchen benches, which is surprising for a cat! She also likes dangly toys, small balls and your wool.
Narla is comfortable with being picked up by adults, but is wary of children. She will come and sit near you and ask for pats, and when it's bedtime, she'll come up and curl up on the bed with you.
Narla is a fussy eater, only the best will do for her! Aldi Gourmet Dry Food and nothing else thank you very much! She also prefers a clumping clay litter but will use crystals as well.
Being a medium hair Narla will need brushing especially during the change of season, but she does like to keep her gorgeous fur looking it's best and grooms it regularly herself.
Narla has lived with a dog but isn't fussed about them. She's looking for an established family or group home, preferably with lots of adults to pat her, and older kids are acceptable. If you're looking for a floofy family member to be interactive and decorative, look no further, Narla is here and waiting for you to submit an enquiry!
Narla is a healthy cat who has been wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped (microchip #900079000428882, source #RE101165). She is available for adoption right now! Her adoption fee also includes her second vaccination at one of our rescue vets. Please note: Cat People of Melbourne is run by volunteers. We try to respond to messages within 24 hours, we are online between 10am and 6pm every day. If you have not heard back after 24 hours, please text the Cat Phone on 0415-241-211 and a volunteer will follow up for you.
To adopt a cat from Cat People you'll be required to have a remote or in-person house check done, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Cats from our group are all are vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being taken home by their adopters. Additionally, all of our cats have been evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and well socialised.
NOT NEGOTIABLE: all Cat People cats and kittens are indoor only/restrained to property and must be fed a high quality raw or prescription vet food (pouch or tinned).
We will communicate with you through every step of the adoption process to ensure that your experience (and the cat's) is excellent and that you are confident in your decision to adopt a feline companion. Returns are only accepted due to health issues confirmed by a veterinarian.
We only accept adoptions from people with residency in Australia. If you are on a work or student visa, talk to us about fostering with the group instead!
