About Oscar (The Grouch)
AVAILABLE NOW
(Adopt by donation)
""You'd be a grouch too, if you lived in a trash can"" - Oscar the Grouch, Sesame Street.
Meet our handsome, talkative, hilarious Oscar. He gets progressively less grouchy as the days go by and is showing his true nature as a playful kitten in the body of a big, scabby, scar-faced cat.
Do you remember our super special boy Denny? Well, Oscar was an old friend of Denny's and was trapped at the same place - a house which had been abandoned due to illness of the owner and subsequently fallen into disrepair. Not quite a literal trash can, but close.
In the trap, Oscar was MAD! He hissed and spat and writhed and flailed.
But he's made one of those beautiful, remarkable turnarounds and is now an incredible smooch!
Oscar has been loved by someone, at sometime in his life, we're sure of it. But he's just a bit out of practice.
He adores pats and attention and will literally throw his whole body into it, falling over dramatically while you keep patting him. He is food-obsessed and will never let you forget to fill up that bowl!
Oscar's problem is that he gets a bit too excited and worked up abd forgets how affection works and sometimes his teeth get involved. If you're patting him and move away too quickly or unexpectedly, you may get a nip or a slap.
He's just so into it all that his brain takes him somewhere else!
Oscar is a lot of cat. He's a big personality. He's not for the faint of heart but he is for the family who want an entertaining, hilarious, outgoing feline.
He's not suited to young children. He will thrive with consistency and in interactions and sensible boundaries.
We feel he would potentially do well with the companionship of a more mellow (but playful) cat.
He has not been tested with dogs and would need a slow and steady intro.
Oscar is FIV positive but currently in good health. He's looking for an indoors-only home that's nothing like a trash can!
Oscar has now been castrated, microchipped and vaccinated. He's ready to go and is available to adopt for the donation of your choice.
Please share him widely to find him a new trash can... oops, we mean home... to live in 🙂🙂 🗑️🗑️
