About Myrtle
Myrtle is an absolute gem of a cat with the sweetest and friendliest little personality!
She’s incredibly affectionate and loves attention in the form of snuggles.
Myrtle’s goofy and sassy antics make her foster carer laugh everyday. She loves to play and will let you know she’s ready by dropping her favourite toys in your lap. She’ll even play fetch!
Myrtle loves to sit beside you while you work from home. She’ll crack up your coworkers everyday with her regular appearances on your zoom meetings.
We think Myrtle would fit in to just about any home, even if you have other furry felines. Her sociable and friendly nature means she gets along great with other cats.
Overall, Myrtle is a gorgeous girl who would make the perfect companion cat to just about anyone.
If Myrtle sounds perfect for you, please complete the short adoption application form in the attached link, please note this is the only way your application will be considered: https://homelesshounds.com.au/adopt/cats
Medical notes
Myrtle is desexed, vaccinated and up to date with flea and parasite control.
Myrtle has recently recovered from a wound that became infected with an antibiotic-resistant bacteria. An MRSP infection. We’re happy to say that her wound is fully healed and there is no evidence of the bacterium anymore on her swabs. There is a small risk that she is still a carrier and we will not know whether or not she is until she is re-swabbed in two months.
MRSP infections are not as scary as they sound! For more information, please see this helpful article:
https://www.medvetforpets.com/methicillin-resistant-staphylococcus-pseudintermedius-mrsp-dogs-cats/
The risk of an MRSP infection spreading between cats to other animals and humans is low. So much so, that Myrtle’s vet housed Myrtle alongside her other animals and her family while she was recovering.
