About Axel
5 year old long legged male seeks new home. Loves exercising and human contact, dislikes loud trucks. Will eat anything.
Axel is a tall lovable goof that adores people. He is kelpie cross mastiff (his foster family thinks there's greyhound in there too). He will happily join you on walks and runs, but is also content to sleep the day away. He is very smart, he has quite a few tricks in his repertoire but gets over excited when food is involved and can become jumpy/paws on. He picks up on routines and new tricks very quickly and has not had a single toileting accident inside his foster home.
Axel is on medication to help with separation anxiety and dog reactivity, both of which are very minor and well managed. He is crate trained and happily snoozes in his crate if you go out and will walk past other dogs on walks with a little bit of interest. He does get along with other dogs, he is just picky with which ones. Due to this, he would best suit a home where someone is home more often than not and he would be the only dog. He would suit older, dog savvy kids as he gets jumpy and paw enthusiastic. His yard will need secure fencing as he has been known to jump fences.
He is happiest trying to fit his 20kg self on your lap, alternatively, he's perfectly content just to have your company. He absolutely adores cuddles and people.
In exchange for unlimited cuddles and food, Axel will provide a floor cleaning service for any and all crumbs.
Medical notes
Axel is on daily anxiety medication which will need to be continued.
