Hi there. I’m Jazz. I’m a 15-month-old Kelpie x Border Collie x Jack Russell Terrier girl.💕
I’m a happy girl and I’m looking for a home on a large farm type property. 🚜🚜
Suburban homes will NOT be considered. I have some silly habits that prevent me from coping with a suburban lifestyle.
I’d best suit an active family that will include me in their everyday lives. I’m a social girl and enjoy playing with other friendly gentle dogs, but am equally happy on my own with my humans. Rough play styles are too much for me.
I'm a sweetheart. I'm a great little dog that loves being snuggled up with my people on the lounge watching TV.
My big issue is that I get overexcited if I know I'm going out for exercise and squeal with excitement that completely overwhelms me. Basically, I lose my shit! Once I arrive at my destination, I run away.....FAST! Foster mum knows to just wait for me to come back so we can start on our bushwalk. I used to jump and squeal right behind foster mum on our walks. Foster mum stops and won't move forward until I move away from her and go forward as well. I need someone who is prepared to continue this training.
I absolutely LOVE balls and sticks. I only get those as a reward at home. Never on walks as it prevents me from just focusing on sniffing and just enjoying being a dog. In foster care "Nothing in life is free." I have to earn things.
I really love to canter alongside foster mums ute with the other dogs. I can see myself chasing the quadbike on a property somewhere. That would be sooo much fun.💨🏃♀️
Since coming into foster care I’ve started my basic training. I’m food motivated & enjoy my training sessions. I’m a clever girl & learn quickly. I sit & wait patiently for my food, drop and come when called...most of the time. I walk nicely on lead. When I go on bush walks with my foster family and foster siblings, I don’t stray far.
I currently sleep inside and know to go outside to use the lawn. I’m a good girl and sleep quietly through the night. I live with cats but they terrify me so I give them space. I also live with chickens and don't hassle them in their run.
I’m searching for a family who understands the needs of working breeds. A home that can provide me with both physical & mental stimulation to help me be the best girl I can be. If you think you can provide me with my perfect forever home my foster mum would love to hear from you.
Love & licks,
Jazz. ❤🐾
Medical notes
Jazz arrived in care on multiple medications for "anxiety." We have slowly weaned her off these to see the reported behaviours from her previous ourselves. They made very little difference. Jazz needs to have a home where she rarely has to leave, hence the search for a farm type home where she can have the exercise she needs without being placed in a stressful situation such as the beach where she is overwhelmed having to meet too many people and other dogs.
