About Rebel and Stumpy
REBEL AND STUMPY
These two gorgeous brothers spent the first 6 months of their lives roaming a vineyard on a rural property. Having no human contact during this time Rebel and Stumpy were terrified and untrusting of humans. They were eventually trapped, neutered and vaccinated and lucky enough to be taken into care by FFAR. Despite their lack of trust, they were never aggressive, hissy or swipey, just very, very frightened. Since coming into care both lads have come a long way and have integrated into their foster carer’s home beautifully. No longer constantly scared of their own shadow, they are happy to chill out in the open, enjoying lazy afternoons on the couch.
Rebel and Stumpy have developed amazing personalities and are playful, cheeky and full of mischief. They are excellent with other cats and adore their foster siblings.
They love their treats and once you have gained their trust they will happily accept treats from your hand.
Unfortunately Rebel and Stumpy are not yet at the stage where they are accepting pats and cuddles. They like to keep their feet firmly on the ground and will run away if you try to pat them.
These two are odd balls but overall they are lovely kitties with beautiful natures and quirky personalities. They make us laugh every day. They are looking for a very special home, with someone who is willing to continue to work with them on their trust issues and continue to nurture the progress they have already made. They would not be suited to home with young children.
Ideally they should go to their new home together, but we would consider separating them provided they can go to a home with another friendly kitty. Both lads will benefit from the company of another feline.
A BIT ABOUT REBEL
Rebel is a quirky little man, despite not being a fan of being touched or cuddled, he loves to be around his human and will sit at your feet and chat to you. If you are eating, Rebel will sit in front of you and beg you for food. He loves his treats (Dine Creamy treats and temptations). Rebel is playful and loves to chase a ball around or a toy mouse. He does zoomies around the house with his brother and foster brother and when playtime is over he will snuggle up on the couch. Once you have gained his trust, Rebel is a bit more accepting of pats but only on his terms. I’m sure with time and patience he will become more confident.
A BIT ABOUT STUMPY
Stumpy is a sweet boy who has taken a bit longer to warm up to domestic bliss. He has come a long way in a short time and is more confident now but still needs plenty of space and patience. He is now confident enough to sleep out in the open, but will run at loud noises or sudden movements.
Stumpy is playful and loves playing with his brother, he enjoys his treats and now has enough confidence to take treats from my hand. At this stage we are still unable to pat or cuddle stumpy but he is happy to sit near you and watch the world go by. Stumpy will need someone with extra patience to help him understand that we humans aren’t so bad.
If you think you can give Rebel and Stumpy their forever home please contact us via an EOI.
