About Lenny
Lenny has a beautiful black coat, gentle brown eyes, wise grey snoot and a white tuxedo chest. He is one lazy hound. Lenny loves to set out on his walks but they can be short, he’s happy to head back home to his comfy bed after 15 minutes. He does however love zoomies in his yard but also happy to snooze most of the day. His favourite time for zoomies after a big fabulous dinner or a most satisfying poo. He will zoom around with a favourite soft toy to entertain you.
Lenny loves his humans and needs to be close to you in the house. He will need a home with humans home a lot or another dog. He is good with his routine: 6am wakeup for the toilet, then back to bed for a couple of hours before breakfast. Then his morning walk.
On his walks Lenny is more interested in meeting the humans than dogs. He is happy enough to briefly engage with dogs on his walks but doesn’t appreciate hyperactive or bouncy dogs. Lenny does struggle with a little freezing on walks, he gets very overwhelmed by lots of people walking in his direction. He doesn’t appreciate noisy playgrounds.
After his walk will Lenny happily chill with you at home while you work or study.
He has learned how to walk up and down stairs and how to walk on a loose lead. He is an absolute darling on car trips too, he’ll hop in and out easily and sleep the whole journey.
Lenny’s foster carers describe him as a gentle sook. He loves getting attention and will be a very affectionate and entertaining addition to the right family.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
