Hi there. I’m Buster. I’m a 2-year-old wolfhound x staffy x border collie. I'm a tallish boy, but not a huge size. I weigh in at 25kg currently.
I’m an affectionate and gentle boy and I’m looking for my forever family. I’d best suit an active family that will include me in their everyday lives. A home where someone is home most of the time. I’d prefer a family with no children or kids over the age of 12-years. I need a calm, consistent and fair home that has experience with larger dog breeds. One that is willing to provide lifelong training & love. In return, I will be your loyal best friend.
I am a natural long distance runner and LOVE running alongside foster mums ute through the state forest trails before we embark on a long walk. I would love a home where I can run with my humans who are riding motorbikes or with trail running families.
I am a social dog and love playing with my foster siblings here in care. As with all dogs, I need proper introductions. I can be a bit in-your-face with my dog friends and sometimes they don't appreciate my rough and tumble play style. Once I know the other dogs are friendly, I’m all up for a good game of chase & bitey face. If I was to be an only dog, I must have the opportunity to have regular play dates and walks with my chosen canine friends.
Since coming into foster care I’ve started my basic training. I’m food motivated & enjoy my training sessions. I’m a clever boy & learn quickly. I’ve learnt my name; I sit & wait for my food & I’m currently learning to not pull on lead. I go on bush walks with my foster family and foster dog siblings and don’t stray far from mum. I like to run back and check in with her regularly.
I do resource guard any high value food against other dogs, so am fed in my crate. Foster mum knows I have good reason to feel protective of my food and is working on this with me.
I will need someone who is willing to continue my training to build my confidence.
I currently sleep inside in my crate or outside in my lovely warm kennel with my foster brothers. I’m a good boy and sleep quietly through the night. I’m not a nuisance barker. I'm respectful of the cats here as they are dog savvy. I have been working hard with foster mum and can now lay quietly beside the kitties in care.
I’m searching for a family who understands the needs of working breeds. A home that can provide me with both physical & mental stimulation. If you think you can provide me with my perfect forever home my foster mum would love to hear from you.
Love & licks,
Buster ❤
