√ older child friendly

x no cats
* 5-6ft fences
Velvet, a.k.a. “Vely”, is a smart little cookie with a real desire to make her humans proud. She will sit and come on command and can wait until she’s given the ok to eat. She can get bouncy when excited, however she quickly remembers she needs to sit and settle before she gets pats.
She’s not attempted to jump fences, has no concerns with the neighbouring dogs and doesn’t nuisance bark. With dogs in the same yard as her, such as her foster brothers, she’s had trouble knowing how to interact and would be best as an only-dog. She is also not a fan of cats. However, when it comes to people, she is absolutely in her element!
This girl loves to cuddle and is grateful for any time spent with her. If she could spend her days with her head on your lap and looking into your eyes she would! That said, she is equally happy taking long naps with or without humans or playing fetch and being active.
When walked on her own Vely walks well on the lead. When off the lead, she’s an absolute star - she stays close, recalls within seconds and is self-motivated to sit and wait for you to catch up or double back to check on you. While in foster care, Vely has shown that she particularly loves females and loves to stay close to her foster mum on walks and when generally hanging out.
Vely sleeps without a peep and she also shows no protest when it’s time to go back to her sleeping place, day or night.
Vely will need high fences (she could easily scale a 1.2 metre / 4ft fence) and humans who will spend some quality time with her, throwing the ball and goofing around. She would love to have children to play with (tweens or older given her playfulness) and would prefer it if she didn’t have to share her humans with other furbabies. This sweet girl will be a very loyal and faithful companion to whoever is lucky to adopt her.
