About Tess ~ 7yr Old Doberman X Catahoula(On Trial 9/10/
Tess is a 7-year-old Doberman x Catahoula with a relaxed and sweet temperament who loves nothing more than lounging around with her humans.
Tess is not a high-energy dog though loves a morning/afternoon walk, enjoys short spells of fetch and tug of war, then is happy to lounge around in the sun or snooze on her bed for the rest of the day. Tess is house trained and spends her time both inside the house and outside.
Tess has been most comfortable sleeping outside on her bed overnight and can continue to do so if she's in a sufficiently covered area, and not exposed to the elements. She does not like storms and thunder and would need to be welcomed inside at night during these times.
Tess can be left outside during the day while you're at work and would love to be welcomed in at night to be part of the family. She does try to sneak onto the couch but can be deterred with a plush dog bed.
Tess is suitable for homes with younger and older children and has lived with both small and large dogs. Tess has not been tested with cats, though when seen on walks, does not react to them. She has not been tested with other pets such as birds and rabbits.
Tess has no behavioural issues. Like most dogs, she will give you a warning if she hears a visitor, then will happily invite them into the house. Tess has excellent recall and also walks well on a lead. She obeys basic commands such as sit, stay and shake.
Tess' ideal home is one that has the time to walk her every day and welcome her into their family and home.
