About Lucky
Lucky is very kind hearted and will be a joy to welcome into any home. His morning greeting with plenty of hugs and tail wags is a bright start to any day. Lucky is extremely confident and loves the home life.
Lucky has mastered stairs, walkies, toilet training, playing fetch. Lucky knows he is occasionally allowed on the bed during the day time for a cuddle but at night he should stay in his own bed. However, he is a proficient counter surfer and is still learning that it’s not allowed. He does pick up on the house rules so this isn’t a major issue.
Lucky may get quite startled if there are noises in the house late at night, and insists on investigating before going back to bed. He will need a quiet space to sleep.
Lucky absolutely loves bananas. He’ll get very excited when seeing one, and loves one as a special treat. He’s also a big fan of pillows, he’ll carry his pillow around with pride and give it a cuddle when going to sleep.
Lucky loves his two 20 minute walks stopping for a cuddle and a chat. He loves pats from everyone he passes and has become a neighbourhood favourite. Everyone wants to meet this friendly, strikingly handsome blonde bombshell.
Lucky has been happy to meet most dogs on his walks but does not appreciate the little ones zooming around off lead.
Lucky’s name is no accident, it describes any home fortunate enough to include our boy.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
