About Sweet Pea
(Sweet) Pea is a beautiful girl aged between 5 - 6 years old who needs an owner/couple who can patiently wait for her to establish a bond of trust and love. She would benefit from being matched with 'homebodies' who are around more than not, as she longs for stability, even if it's just to know you're there in the next room! (Though, she won't let on!)
Sweet Pea has been labelled a ""Cool Cat"" by our rescue vet! She is very chilled and sometimes even a bit aloof!
When you first bring her home she will find the nearest and smallest place to hide....under a desk, in the wardrobe or under your bed. A few treats will help lure her out, or you can probably just let her appear in her own time. She is very serious and can be independent, but at the same time she will also have moments when she'll follow you around the house to observe your movements....a bit like stalking!! :) She would benefit from a cat tree or elevated viewing spot where she can perch and observe both you and the world outside.
Sweet Pea is comfortable sleeping on the end of your bed at night and will instigate her own affection technique of nuzzling into your face, and maybe more, as she gets to know you better. She is not too keen on being picked up, nor playing with toys.....and will wait until you've walked away before eating her food.
These characteristics will hopefully change as she settles into her new home.
She loves to scratch....anywhere but the cat scratching post, so make sure your couch is doubly protected...a bit of training will help to protect your furniture over time...fingers crossed!!
Sweet Pea has had a very unstable life so far, having many places of abode, but she is now looking for her forever home.

Cats from our group are all are vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being taken home by their adopters. Additionally, all of our cats have been evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and well socialised. Please note: all Cat People cats and kittens are indoor only, this is not negotiable.
We will communicate with you through every step of the adoption process to ensure that your experience (and the cat's) is excellent and that you are confident in your decision to adopt a feline companion. Returns are only accepted due to health issues confirmed by a veterinarian.
We only accept adoptions from people with residency in Australia. If you are on a work or student visa, talk to us about fostering with the group instead!
