About Mila
Hi My name is Mila, but I should have been named Velco – I loovve my humans
I am a Pug x Shih Tzu (can also be referred to as a Pug-Zu - who knew!) I am 6 years and 8 months old.
Anyone who meets me normally breaks into a smile pretty quickly – I am just one of these girls that can make anyone smile just with my zany personality and love of life.
I came into care a few months ago and can I just say that when I meet my foster mum and dad – it was love at first sight for me and my foster dad (okay well on my side at least – he was still in like stage)
I love my foster dad so much that when he is home I am his shadow everywhere he goes – I love to sit on his lap and gaze at him adoringly, or follow him if he goes to the kitchen and gaze at him adoringly. I will even follow him outside and yep you got it – gaze at him adoringly.
I love my foster mum too but my foster dad is my person – will you be my person?
So as you know I’m a Pug x Shih Tzu so I have a bit of a wispy coat but it’s rather soft when your patting me – but I will need a quick groom tidy up every so often or else I look like I stuck my paw in a power socket!
I am currently in care with a few other small breed dogs and I get along well with all of them, well that’s mainly cause they have no say cause I’m just happy and fun loving and don’t give anyone a chance to not love me.
I enjoy going for drives in the car and get excited when I see my lead and harness to go for a walk. My foster mum says i do need to be on a lead outside of my house if not, I apparently become like Usain Bolt and can run and run ....... oops!
So even though you know I could run if I really wanted too or go for walks I do have a bit more of a ‘round’ body shape then I should – my mum says I am a eating machine and love to be the clean up crew if anyone leaves any food behind or I push them out of the way to helpfully help them eat their food – so that is something that my new humans would have to keep an eye on as I really can’t be doing that my figure should be hourglass not round.
I am toilet trained
I have been around kids before and have no issues with them (cause you know they would give me attention) but any family needs to be mindful of kids feeding me extra treats cause I’m really going to need to be careful of that
I have lived in a home with cats, birds and guinea pigs. I am great with birds in their cage but I do like to chase free roaming birds in the backyard.
My dream home would be with someone who either works from home or doesn't work and is a home body cause you know the whole Velcro thing applies.
I am a girl who enjoys the luxury of an indoor life and have great indoor manners. I do like to spend some time outside doing my thing so I would like to have the best of both worlds - inside and outside access when I want.

Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 2 week trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
