About Amaris & Calypso ~ GSD puppies(10/10/21)
~EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST INVITED~ Please read the entire profile before clicking enquire or applying for these pups.
These gorgeous girls are Amaris & Calypso, 8wk old German Shepherd x puppies, who were born in care and will soon be looking for their forever homes. As they are still quite young, they will be playing in their foster home for a few more weeks and will be ready to leave when they are 10 weeks old. For this reason, we are only taking expressions of interest at this stage until they are ready to go to their new homes.
Amaris and Calypso will NOT be rehomed together, and are each available to separate homes. We will NOT consider rehoming together so please understand your application will only be considered for one.
These girls are indeed ADORABLE now… but these little angels have the potential to make an undesirable mess if not given the right enrichment and training. Unfortunately no units, small yards or first time dog owners will be considered.
Amaris and Calypso will grow up to be medium to large dogs, and will need a home that is COMMITTED to their ongoing training and socialisation with both humans and animals. Puppy training classes and continued obedience training will benefit them hugely, due to their size and breed. Exposing these girls to various situations like trips to Bunnings, the beach, park and community sporting events, will help them become well rounded family dogs.
Being young puppies they do like to bite and chew so will need consistency with training. They will also need a family that understand they will need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation or they will get bored and start displaying less desirable behaviour.
They are very snuggly puppies who love their humans and would love to go to a home where they are welcomed inside. It would be great if someone worked part time in the household, particularly if there isn’t another dog to hang out with. Homes with chilled male dogs, secure / fully fenced yards, being 6ft colourbond fencing (no dog pens/ rural fencing) and a comprehensive puppy plan will be highly regarded. We have one chance to give these girls the best start to the rest of their life, to make them the most valuable family member they can be and we aim to get it right.
As they are not yet desexed, Amaris and Calypso are only available for adoption to Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens as they'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when approximately 5-6 months old.
To present your expression of interest, please email sarahsrescues@gmail.com with information regarding your experience and puppy plan. We will only consider applicants who have comprehensively discussed bringing a new puppy into their homes, and who fully understand the breed and their requirements.
Amaris and Calypso are located in the Lake Macquarie Region NSW, and are not available for interstate or out of area adoption at this time. You can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
