Arlo ~ 4yr Old Pug X(on trial 28/9/21)

Arlo is a 4yr Old Pug X. He is a small little man, and weighs in at 4.6kg. He is typical of the Pug breed, is very playful, very affectionate with an easy going nature. He requires full participation with the family and loves his daily walks. He is friendly with a gentle nature that will win you over immediately. He has come from a very loving home, which he shared with another dog, and was very well looked after. He presently lives with our gentle two year old female dog and enjoys sharing beds and playing tug-a-war with her.

He is a happy and charming little boy. He makes for a wonderful companion and relishes in following you around all day and being involved in all activities. He loves his daily walks, although tends to be over exuberant at first as he is excited to enjoy the adventure of new smells and places. He does need some patience with further lead training. He is happy to greet other dogs on our walk, except for the occasional larger dog who may seem threatening to him.

He will come when called and always sits for his dinner. He is extremely alert and would make an excellent watch dog. He sounds the alarm when something is wrong or joins in when the other dogs bark, but soon settles.

He has no issues travelling in the car where he is secured on the back seat hammock. His coat is low maintenance and only requires a weekly brushing to keep the shedding to a minimum. Arlo grew up with a gentle cat as a puppy, then lived with a very grouchy and aggressive cat, where he did not cope well. He hasn’t been around a cat for the last three years.

He sleeps inside at night in his crate and has been house trained by me with only a very occasional mishap. Our doggy door is more suited to the larger dog so he finds it hard to use, but I am sure he would learn quickly if it was easier to negotiate. There is always an open door for him to access the yard during the day.

This little boy will return the love and devotion in bucket loads and will become an awesome part of your family. He is the perfect breed if you are looking for a constant companion to share your day and join you on walks and outings. He is not the dog for you if you expect to leave him alone for long hours.

Arlo is in foster care at Valentine, N.S.W. (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle), and is not for adoption interstate but ideally in the local L.G.A.

Arlo’s adoption fee is $700. He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms.
