About Albie
Albie is approximately 2 years old, having been born on the Stockton Breakwall as part of the colony there.
Like his brother Alfie (who is also available for adoption) he was lucky to survive the cull last December, and he was removed from the breakwall and placed into foster care in May. Because of this he is no longer at risk, and he enjoys the relative comfort of a warm place to sleep and regular healthy meals.
As foster carers we have been so fortunate to have had Albie during this time. Although he is still timid at times, these last 4 months have seen marked improvement as he has grown in confidence with his new surroundings.
It is now time for Albie to find his forever-home.
Albie is very independent as this is all he has known prior to now. He is still spooked by sudden movement and loud noise. He will need continued patience to allow him to develop more confidence in new surroundings and in trusting humans.
His routine includes scheduled feeding times and in between these he enjoys napping and coming out to explore his environment. He enjoys bathing himself in the sun, and does enjoy playing with his brother Alfie, or with cat toys on his own.
Albie has not yet learned to fully trust humans, and still hisses a little when we put his food bowl down, although this is steadily improving with time. He does enjoy licking 'Creamy Treats' from our fingers, and also likes being in our presence while we are eating at the dinner table. He might occasionally let out a soft meow if we are late with his dinner.
Albie will need to be homed in a supportive environment so he can continue to thrive. The household would ideally be fairly quiet and have no young children and no dogs, although if you had one or more cats this may be ok. Patience is the most important requirement. He is very independent so if you work away from home for the day he is completely fine.
Please note Albie will need to remain housed indoors for his own safety. Even though he has been rescued off the wall and is now enjoying a more domesticated life he still has a way to go before he learns to trust a new environment and becomes fully domesticated.
If you are after a beautiful boy who is easy to care for and very independent, and who will continue to thrive if you give him a chance at a better life, then you have found him!
Both Albie and his brother Alfie are desexed, microchipped, dewormed and ready to meet their new owners, whether this be together or separately.
Adoption details
Our adoption process starts with a phone call, an informal chat & organise a time for a home inspection - this is the best way to ensure a good human/cat match. The adoption application is then forwarded to the Foster carer who will call to arrange a meet & greet. All going well you may be able to take your new furbaby home that day.
