About Logan
Logan is available for adoption in ACT and NSW only.
Logan is a handsome two year old working line German Shepherd who has had a bit of a rough start to life but has some amazing qualities and so much love to give.
Logan is best suited to an active couple or family with teenage children that have recently owned a German Shepherd. Logan is looking for a home where he will be treated as a member of the family, be allowed inside with his humans and can tag along on family adventures. He also loves the water and on a hot day will enjoy a trip to the beach or a dip in the pool.
Logan walks and runs well on lead. Logan and his foster carer are working on building trust off-lead and have had some successful experiences on doggy play dates, at the enclosed oval, and getting to or from the car.
Logan needs a home where he will be an integral family member. He loves to be involved and will sit and wait patiently at the back door. He still has some puppy energy and is a bit destructive when left in the backyard all day (eg chewing toys/bedding), or simply just rearranging the décor (pot plants, food bowls, large rocks?). He also gets excited to see his humans and can jump up. He is a very affectionate dog, and loves leaning in for cuddles, head pats, and chest rubs.
Logan is currently living with a female Border Collie in a large backyard so could go to a home with another dog. He loves to play and has been social with all other dogs he has met.
Logan is house trained and sleeps in a dog crate.
Logan loves food. Breakfast and dinner are his two favourite times of the day, and peanut butter in a KONG is well appreciated. This makes Logan very motivated during training sessions.
Logan can be apprehensive towards some new males (particularly when they are visiting the home). This requires proper introductions, some targeted training, and building a strong trust bond between Logan and his new owner. Logan is very sweet and loving and majority of the time he warms quickly to new people.
Logan is not suited to a home with cats or pocket pets.
Intelligence, loyalty, love, and companionship is what Logan will give in abundance when he connects and builds that trust with his new owner.
If you understand the nature of the German Shepherd, have recently owned a German Shepherd, and are looking for a companion dog then please consider Logan.
If you think you can give Logan a new home, please contact us by selecting "Enquire about Logan".
Medical notes
Logan is microchipped, vaccinated and desexed.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
