About Oakley
World, meet Oakley!
Oakley is a middle-aged man, but still has the boundless energy of a puppy! He's a total sweetheart, but can get way too easily excited.
The past couple of years have been less than ideal for this bouncy boy, so he is looking for a home with experienced working breed owners who can help to right the wrongs of his past.
His number one non-negotiable is that his new home MUST have 6 foot secure fencing. He is capable of jumping almost this height when he gets excited. Number two would be that he needs to be in a home with children who are 12 years or older only. This is because he can do some hard-hitting body slams when playing, and doesn't always know how to direct his energy to the right objects.
A great point for him is that he is open to meeting any existing dog in the home - a calm female would be the best match! We'd set up an appointment for the family and dog to meet him here at the shelter, to make sure it's a good match.
Oakley walks well on lead, loves to play with soccer balls and splash in a paddle pool. Unfortunately, he's never been an inside pet and is not toilet trained. He would benefit from slow introductions to inside living, and would be suitable to stay outside for most of the day provided the yard is 100% secure for him (photos will be asked for on application!).
If you'd like to meet this fun, energetic lad, click 'Apply to Adopt' and also call the shelter on 4155 1736 to arrange a time to come out!
Adoption fee $350, which includes desexing, microchipping, up-to-date vaccinations, worming & flea treatments.
