About Gracie
Gracie has certainly read the instruction manual on how to be a greyhound. She is generally happy to snooze the day away but will spring up ready for her walks when she hears the door keys rattle. She loves to go exploring, and really enjoys metropolitan walks to the café, socialising with new doggy friends and also absolutely loves walks in the bush too where she can smell so many things!
Gracie is friendly and loves to interact with all the humans she meets on her walks. She is happy to greet most dogs providing they are chilled like her and she doesn’t get rushed-at by impolite dogs.
Gracie thinks she is the most elegant doggo on her walks. She gets lots of admirers with her cute white paws, tall muscular build and spotty chest. She has a cheeky little grin but the occasional tongue hanging out lets that image slip.
Gracie can be a little precious. The couch is her thrown and she will go limp if you try to coax her off. If you are happy to share the couch with your Princess she will be most pleased.
Being in lockdown, Gracie has had her humans at home with her 24/7 but we feel with some training she can learn to be by herself for a few hours.
Our Princess Gracie is a delightful royal lady who will fill your home with laughs and cuddles.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
