About Master Bluey
Meet Bluey, a 2-year-old male Netherland Dwarf. Bluey is a curious but cautious bunny with a gentle soul. He loves having time to independently explore and play – digging and sniffing are some of his favourite ways to have fun. He loves a gentle head pat and sometimes even a cheek pat when engaging with humans but isn’t a fan of being picked up or cuddled.
Bluey doesn’t like noises or too much activity around him and can occasionally react defensively and has bitten a few times . Sometimes he won't warn that he feels threatened, so he isn’t well suited to a home with too much variability. He is very expressive in every way; he will thump if something is to his dissatisfaction, and it’s as if he’s shouting, ‘oi mum give me back my toy!’. But he also expresses himself positively, and you are guaranteed to get a little purr out of him whenever you give him a pat.
Bluey has recently been desexed, and his litter habits have vastly improved as a result. However, a stray poo or two is not unusual (but never a wee – that’s reserved for his litterbox only). He doesn’t chew wood but isn’t afraid to attack a wire when it gets in his way. When care is required, such as nail clipping or syringe feeding following surgery, Bluey has always reacted positively and obediently without any aggression. However, he does not like being picked up and will be very cautious around you after such events have occurred.
Bluey has never been around other bunnies so it is hard to know for sure, but his reserved nature may be suited to a gentle but energetic bunny who could inspire him to come out of his shell.

Adoption details
Our rescue rabbits are available with photos on our site at www.rabbitsanctuary.com.au
Our rabbits come desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked. They are available for a donation for your choice over $265 or $365 for a pair.
We only adopt to indoor homes in playpen/free range set ups so that our rabbits become part of your family with plenty of interaction. This also protects them from the heat and cold which rabbits are susceptible to and the viruses outdoors released to eliminate the wild rabbit population.
Please check out our website www.rabbitsanctuary.com.au to see all our bunnies available and to fill in an application form. You must provide a photo of your set up including a playpen, litter tray, hay rack, hidey house and some toys. When your application is approved you can choose any of our available rabbits.
