Balou ~ 2 y/o Siamese x

Balou is a very handsome 2 year old Siamese cat who is looking for a very special home.

Please read his profile very carefully as he has a few special quirks.

Balou found himself in the pound after being picked up as a stray not microchipped or desexed. He was quite stressed so DRN was contacted to help. We feel he was an inside/ outside boy, allowed to come and go at his leisure so was not used to being confined.

We feel he has been a pet at some stage of his life as he is quite social. His current carer has found him super affectionate to the point he will follow her around where-ever she goes even the loo! He loves attention but it is really on his terms. When he has had enough he enjoys his own time relaxing and having a nap.

Since Balou has been in care he has had a few adventures and pushed his way through screens. He hasn’t gone far but we have found out the reason why - Balou NEEDS other cats and he wants to be where you are. Since this has been discovered, Balou is so much happier and not looking to get out. So in saying this Balou must have a home he is very much welcomed and be part of the family. His characteristics are very much like a dogs!

Balou is with a very experienced carer who he feels very secure and comfortable with but he has been known to react in situations he is unsure of so we are looking for someone who is very cat savvy, someone who understands cats and can offer him the time, patience and love he needs. He needs to know that person is confident with him as he senses any uncertainty and can react to that. In saying all this he is a delight and super smart. He is obsessed with food and has had no issue using his litter tray.

Balou would definitely suit a home that has a cat enclosure but he has also has been exposed to a harness and lead and doesn’t mind going for a walk.

The home for Balou:

- Must have other cats

- can have a cat friendly dog although he can be unsure of them

- no small children but older teenagers would be okay

- be an experienced cat person

- someone home more often then not
