About Norman
Hi, I'm Norman.
I've had a bit of a rough start to life, been in foster care for a long time and now ready for a fresh start with my new forever family.
So far in my foster home I have learned sit, drop, spin, shake and touch recall, how amazing is that? I'm super eager to learn more too! My friends at the RSPCA said that I'd really benefit from a family who have working breed experience and some further training in my new home and hope that you'll be willing to take me to some more classes. Think of it as bonding time for us!
I am a bit of a ''Nervous Nellie'' when meeting new people and going to new places, so a patient and kind family who's ready to give me the time and space I need to feel comfortable and flourish is exactly what I'm looking for. Understandably, due to my past, I'm not fully acquainted with some of the usual day to day household things, so taking things slow and allowing me to build my confidence at my pace is required.
Children can tend to be a little noisy for my liking, so I would like to go to a home with adults or older teens only who understand that it will take time for me to get used to my new surroundings, and allow me the time and space to overcome my worries.
My favourite thing to do is cuddle inside with my chosen people. Quality indoor time is just what I need to build confidence and bond with my new family. I'm also a bit of a goof ball! During my time in care, I've been given plenty of opportunities to learn exactly what I love to do. So far these have consisted of: Sunbathing under the nice warm sun, making beautiful melodies with my squeaky toys, butt scratches, letting the humans play chasies in the yard with me, army crawling up to my chosen people for cuddles and so much more!
I also love to keep my mind active with daily walkies and enrichment - milk bottles, kong's, egg cartoons, wobblers, go slow bowls etc -They are really great boredom busters and keep me entertained for hours while my family are busy.
I'm best suited as a single dog in the home, where all the love and attention is on me! I would be up for some regular play dates with a social female dog if I had the opportunity to make friends.
No cats sorry.
