Meet Bobby. He is an 8 month old Border Collie X Lab, weighing in at 20kg.

Bobby is a bit of an anxious guy, who doesn't like to be left out of the action, so he will require someone who is home most of the time. Having kids will earn you extra brownie points.

Bobby was previously raised as an outside dog, but is enjoying discovering what happens inside the house. He has learnt that the vacuum will not suck him up, but he is yet to be convinced that dragons don't live in the dishwasher and doors won't eat him as he passes through them.

Being a working breed he has energy to burn and requires regular daily exercise. He loves the company of other dogs, and a doggy friend is a must for his new home.

Since coming into care Bobby has discovered the joys of the beach and splashing in the water with all his doggy pals. He is responsive to his name and is able to go off lead and be tempted back with treats.

Bobby is not a chewer, digger or barker. He walks beautifully on a lead with a harness and travels well in the car.

He is learning basic commands - already knows “sit” and is working on “stay”. He can jump when excited, but with a quick glance and a No, he will sit and knows it is not accepted behaviour.

He has learnt to escape 5ft fences at his foster home and will require 6ft secure fencing.

Bobby is now house trained and sleeps inside.

Great with cats and children (was brought up with a toddler).
