Meet Weir,
Weir is a happy go-lucky boy with some anxiety issues that require another dog friend to permanently reside with him. He can be a bit goofy sometimes and be unaware of his size but overall is a giant cuddle bug.
Weir can be touch and go with new people and will bark at new people in an attempt to scare them off, this is believed to be due to his insecurities and being unsure of new peopleās intentions!
However, outside this, Weir is completely toilet trained, makes no fuss sleeping on his bed on the ground next to the bed, and anywhere near you during the day, has good recall and is generally not reactive. With that being said, he will need ongoing training and committed owners, who are willing to put in time and effort with him, and not giving up.
With a scary bark and size to match, he really does NOT suit his appearance. He will follow his pawrents around the house all the time, cuddle you when youāre sad and lay on you when youāre on the couch, or just sitting anywhere.
Any family would be lucky to have Weir in their life, and his foster mama wants to keep him, unfortunately she canāt as she has hit her resident dog quota for the time being.
Weir needs a family committed to ironing out his anxiety with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, and over time teaching him that its okay to be alone, and on top of this, he needs a fur-friend that he can be with FOR LIFE.
Warning: Weir can exercise bad habits of destruction when left totally alone, a permanent resident dog that is friendly with him and will keep him company will resolve this issue AND he does not like the blow dryer at the dog wash!
