On Hold
About Molly ~ 2yo Blue Cattle Dog (On Trial 31/10/21)
Molly is a gorgeous lady looking for a new loving and patient family to settle in with.
She is a 2 year old stumpy tail Blue Cattle Dog, who is goofy, loving and happy, but she will need time and understanding from her new people to allow her to come out of her shell in her own time.
Molly has been passed between owners as a pup and we suspect not treated very kindly, She can be shy and timid, and will take a few weeks to become more confident with receiving pats and being close to you, and it is important to know she is particularly scared of men. She is dog friendly, walks well on a lead and loves to settle next to you for some tv time. She is a medium energy level dog that enjoys a daily walk and some backyard playtime.
Molly's ideal new home would be fairly quite with no young children (as she is scared of sudden movements, loud noises and needs to be given space), she would benefit from being with another dog for confidence and ideally with no men (or if so, they would need to be extremely patient and work on slowly building a relationship of trust with her). She would suit full time workers as she is ok with being left alone and does not try to escape her yard. She will also need a place of comfort to hide when visitors are over as she can become frightened with new people.
Molly enjoys both outside and inside time, but sleeps inside on her bed or lounge if allowed.
She is not house trained, but rarely toilets inside if she has access to outside. She has not been trained for any tricks, but has good recall and could be trained easily. She has a low maintenance coat, but does have some shedding so regular brushing is required.
We would recommend a few meet and greets with Molly before starting an adoption trial to build up her confidence with you. Aside from being a shy and timid girl, she becomes very friendly and affectionate with time.
To apply to meet and adopt Molly, you can fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadoptfill or for further questions email Amanda at C3253591@uon.edu.au
Molly's adoption fee is $500 and she is located in Cameron Park (suburb of Newcastle). She is desexed, up to date with her vaccinations, worming and flea treatment and is overall a healthy girl.
